Aging swimmer gives hope for the rest of us

In this July 5, 2008 file photo, swimmer Dara Torres celebrates setting a US record time of 24.38 in the women's 50-meter freestyle semifinal at the US Olympic swimming trials in Omaha, Neb.. At 41, Torres is heading for her fifth Olympics, a remarkable feat that has left armchair athletes doing a double-take. But exercise experts say Torres' achievements at least partly reflect advances in training _ and that many of us could come closer than we think. Dara Torres jokes that she had trouble reading the scoreboard after winning the first of two events at the Olympic swimming trials.
