Weather disaster impacts IU’s research computing systems

IU Bloomington has faced a series of severe weather events that started June 4 and extended to June 15, causing repeated failures in the electrical power infrastructure. UITS technical staff are working around the clock to restore the availability of IU's research systems.

Steel access changes and Mypage migration on June 23

On Monday, June 23 (from 8am to 5pm), Mypage services will migrate to a new platform. As part of the migration process, the file systems on the Steel cluster will become read-only, meaning you will be able to access your files but not edit them or add new files. Please note that these changes are scheduled one week earlier than originally announced.

IUware: At your service

IUware is a software distribution service for Indiana University students, faculty, and staff. IUware is available via the web using IUware Online, and also on CD.

IUware offers software for reading email and web browsing, as well as programs such as antivirus and office applications. Since the university has already paid for the relevant licenses through its many agreements with vendors, you may use the programs available through IUware for free as long as your affiliation with IU continues.

Increased departmental discounts on select Apple computers

Departments: Apple is offering additional discounts on four MacBook, MacBook Pro, and iMac computers. The discounts range from $70 to $130 below education pricing. Apple must receive your orders by June 27.
