It's very exciting. If successful from the technical, political, and financial viewpoints--if customers like it, especially--it could be a catalyst for transit systems worldwide to adopt on-board service, and provoke more commuting. All the tipping-point factors are there: several viable forms of backhaul, the high price of gas, the need for transit authorities to provide more compelling reasons to ride. San Antonio's airport offers free Wi-Fi: The airport opted to go free. The airport serves about 8 million passengers per year (2007 statistics)....
